The Lonely Bull by Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass

Happy Memorial Day!

Several years ago I got to take part in meeting the Men and Family members of the USS Pueblo at their 50th Reunion held at The Center for American Values in Pueblo, Colorado.

It was a memorable experience.

As I was leaving one of the Sailors said to me, "Remember, The Lonely Bull by Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass" as this song was their fight song as prisoners held by the North Koreans.

So, the next time you hear the Lonely Bull, remember the sailors of USS Pueblo and what they endured during their time as prisoners of war.

Here locally, tomorrow, the community shall be lighting (red, white and blue) candles of honor and placing them on porches.

Red - remember the bloodshed in a battle for the protection of our freedoms

White - to keep our POWS and MIAs ever in our thoughts and prayers as we await their return home

Blue - to salute the memories of those who made it home but are no longer with us

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend!
